Knee Pain

The knee joint is implicated in many stages of life. Active children and adolescents often succumb to anterior knee pain and growth-related issues like Osgood Schlatters, whilst young adults may experience traumatic injuries that compromise the ligaments and meniscuses. Older adults are most commonly affected by joint degenerative changes and osteoarthritis.

The symptoms of your specific knee pain will depend on exactly what part of the knee is affected and whether it’s an acute injury or an issue that’s more longer-term.

Common conditions that our physiotherapists see and treat include:

  • Meniscus tears and degenerative changes

  • ACL and PCL tears

  • Collateral ligament damage

  • Knee fractures

  • Anterior knee pain

  • Chondromalacia

  • Patella dislocation

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Quadricep and patella tendinopathy

Our physiotherapists will thoroughly assess the cause of your knee pain and assess any biomechanical faults that may be contributing. A range manual therapy techniques including soft tissue therapy, dry needling, hydrotherapy, and rehabilitative exercises will prescribed based on the needs of each individual. When surgery is required, we will work closely with your doctor and surgeon to ensure integrative and best-practice care. Most importantly, whether the goal is to walk without a stick or play another footy game, our physios will dedicate their expertise to ensure you achieve the best possible outcome.
