What is Hydrotherapy:
Hydrotherapy is a water-based exercise in a heated pool, for rehabilitation of injuries and body aches, as well as improvement of general mobility and fitness. Bluff Road & North Road Physiotherapy's hydrotherapy program works with the Danny Frawley Centre in Moorabbin to provide the highest quality hydrotherapy treatment within first class facilities for our patients.
Types of populations and conditions that generally benefit from hydrotherapy include:
Arthritis
Soft Tissue Injury
Chronic Aches and Pains
Ante and Postnatal Care
Those that have too much pain with land-based exercise
The Extra Details:
Location: Danny Frawley Centre, 32-60 Linton St, Moorabbin, in their dedicated hydrotherapy pool, on Wednesday’s from 1:00pm-2:00pm & 2:00pm-3:00pm.
Class numbers will be capped, and each participant will have an individualised program which is discussed and created with James prior to commencement. This program will be reviewed in a consult every 8 weeks, or as determined by James, for appropriate changes and progressions to be made.
The pool is heated, and has a ramp and rail across on both sides.
Please bring along bathers, a towel, thongs, or easy slip on shoes for the shower and pool area. Equipment like pool noodles and kicking boards will be provided.
Patients wishing to stay in the pool after the classes will need to pay the centre for a casual swim, which is at a price of $8.00 for an adult or $6.40 for a concession card holder.
Pricing:
1 Session = $48
10 Sessions (over 4 months) = $450
Payment will be taken either in-clinic or over the phone at either our Bluff Road or North Road clinic prior to commencement. Please check with your private health fund for level of cover.
How to get Started:
Simply go online or speak to our reception staff to book an assessment consultation with James, at either of our two clinic locations. In this appointment, James will discuss your current history, goals and levels of activity, and from there, create a tailored hydrotherapy program which is suitable for you.
Missed Classes and Cancellations:
As class numbers are capped, we ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend, in order to avoid a cancellation fee.
